Friday Afternoon

Feeling busy lately - but blissfully so. I am really loving being at home - awaiting the arrival of our first babe. I like doing the dishes with the quiet of 7 am (and following it with tea and knitting).

There is something very powerful about designing your day. Sure there are chores to toss in and errands to run - but somehow they become more enjoyable with tea in hand or with the distant sound of rain falling.

Lots of love,

Make it Monday

We are having a delightful rainy Monday here. The sun still hasn't come up and the sky is deliciously dark. I've been feeling a little busy lately which is always frustrating. I think I feel most like myself when I'm on top of things. I have the day off which makes this rainy day feel even more special. I'm thinking this morning I'm going to cozy up with some tea and watch the morning news.

In the mean time here are some delightfully cozy things I want to make,

Can someone make these for me? Please. Mmmm.

Here are some soaping projects I want to start for Christmas Gifts,

Have a wonderful cozy fall day. Enjoy the falling leaves and changing weather.

Thursday

Titled: Pug, tired, sleeping on belly.

Happy Thursday!
I have recovered from the deathly cold I was suffering from the last few weeks. Life has been pretty mellow around here the last while. My grandparents are coming in to stay with my parents this weekend and I'm looking forward to spending time with them.

Oh yes, and the rain started today. We had our first rainfall in weeks and it was wonderfully cleansing. I loved driving in the rainy drizzle to work this morning, fall is really coming.

I hope you had a wonderful week and coming weekend.

Lots of love,

Rainy Monday

I awoke this morning at about 6:50 am to the sweetest sound. There was a faint pitter patter of rain. We haven't had rain in a few weeks here - and I have to admit I've missed it oh so much. There is something so romantic about a heavy rain downpour. I've spent this morning snuggled with the pug on the couch enjoying the sounds of rain and knitting.

I ran outside to snap a picture of the beautiful water beading on my broccoli plant leaves. I am completely drenched from a mere 60 seconds in the rain. It feels delightfully refreshing.

I think I'm having a bit of an affair on my camera with Instagram. I love the convenience of taking photographs from my iphone and editing them right away.

I hope your day is relaxing and lovely.

Saturday Morning

I awoke Saturday morning at about 6:50 am to the sound of pouring rain. We have had a bit of sunshine lately which made this downpour unexpected. Barry and I were up fairly late the night before and my bones were tired but I couldn't find anymore sleep. Does this ever happen to you? So with about 6 hours of sleep I crawled out of my warm bed and put on my rain coat. I ventured outside to take some rainy morning photographs. I have felt inspired lately to take more photographs, I'm forcing myself to learn how to use the manual mode on our camera and figure out how to use ISO and aperture.

My lovely rain barrel was overflowing.

Squash bloom sheltering itself from the rain.

After I dried off I came inside and made a cup of tea in one of my favorite mugs.

The house was silent for another 2 hours before anyone (including the pug) stirred from their slumber. I enjoyed the time alone.

How do you spend quiet mornings?

Have a wonderful Sunday.
