Blue Beadboard Love

 

I'm feeling so inspired by this Better Homes and Garden photograph. This lovely kitchen is a cottage remodel in upstate New York. I love the idea of painting the beadboard that lovely blue shade. My eyes go right to the blue plates on the second shelf to the left. Open shelving is so dreamy in photographs, I wonder how much of a pain it is to keep organized. 

Such a lovely space to cook!

A Painted Door

I'm dreaming today about all of these lovely painted doors.

Beautiful buttery yellow. I love the distressing near the bottom of the door.


A gorgeous modern pink door. I don't think this is something I would ever do but it is so lovely and bold.


Green? This door reminds me a bit of celery. I love all of the contrasting white around it.


Red, oh gosh yes please. I love a red door. Usually you see red as the front door, but I love that this pop of red is inside.


This last photo is my favorite painted door inspiration. Doesn't this space look nesty? I love that little basket to the left with linens in it.

Have a wonderful start to the week!

A few thoughts

Happy Tuesday! I am thus far enjoying my summer vacation immensely. Today I cleaned out our office/my sewing space and worked in the back yard. I also spray painted oodles of things that have been on my list to do. I'm mostly using Krylon Glossy White however I stumbled upon this lovely color today and had to grab a can.

Krylon Blue Ocean Breeze.

I painted a few knick knacks in this color and a clock that I've been meaning to makeover for awhile. I can't wait to post pics soon. I did forget to take before photographs, however I'm sure the afters pictures will be just as fun.

Speaking of lovely blue/teal summery colors I just painted my toes in this lovely nail polish.

The color is Read my Palm by OPI. I bought it last summer from Sephora and am still loving the vintage feel I get from wearing it.

Lastly I've been thinking about floor lamps a lot lately. Kind of random I think. I want one with glass used in it someway, or a glass looking acrylic. Maybe something like this?

Another Inspiring Bathroom

• The bead board. Beautiful, I love how high up it goes on the wall.
• The window. I love a good sized window in a bathroom. The natural light radiates this space.
  
• Love the faucets for the tub.
  

This space is so bright and fresh. I want to fill that tub up and have a long bath (the kind that drags on so long your fingers get pruny).

Late Wednesday Inspiration

This photograph sums up exactly how I'm feeling about design lately.

• Love the white. Gosh white on white on white. So clean and fresh.
• I love penny tiles. And subway tiles. When I one day get to renovate a bathroom I will hopefully get to use both of these mediums.
  
• I love that open window. The window itself looks vintage and warn, but so lovely. Natural light is breathtaking.
  
• I adore the versatility of white spaces. You can introduce one pop of color and suddenly the mood is completely different.
• Lastly this space feels so clean to me, but not sterile. Rather cozy. I can imagine myself spending hours in a hot bubble bath in the winter months.

Sigh. I definitely feel inspired now.

A Pause In the Pastel

Happy Friday!

I do feel like lately I've had a majority of inspiration posts.

Next week I am planning on getting started on a new DIY project - it involves tracking down new glass drawer pulls like these,

Hopefully I can find some this weekend and not have to purchase online and pay shipping.

My Friday inspiration comes from this website called Livet Hemma. The site (from the looks of things) is run by Ikea. The website isn't in English but I just popped it into Google Translate and viola! I can understand it!

I came across this beautiful post titled A Pause in the Pastel. I adore the text as well as the delicate photographs.



Here is an excerpt,

"Bright colors, crisp white and delicate pastels gives peace and tranquility in your bedroom and invites you to sweet dreams. I love that the translation is a little broken, it adds to the romantic feel I get from this space. I encourage you to check out Livet Hemma.

I love that I can actually buy everything used to design this space - and the items are at great Ikea prices.

I have been eyeing the Ofelia - the white fluffy throw blanket on the bed for ages now. I'm considering purchasing it for a fun summer throw. I didn't know it was only 24.99 either, not a bad price!

An Outdoor Wedding

My beau and I are planning on getting married after we purchase our first home. We hope to be able to get married in our very own back yard one day. The thought of two such monumental events colliding makes my heart go pitter patter.
